Should You Pursue Architectural Builds? (2 of 2)

Are you suited to architectural work? After hundreds of research interviews with architects and builders, we share the second 5 of 10 discoveries we made…

Here is the second set of discoveries we made researching the way hundreds of architects and builders approach their work – and each other.

Our interviews uncovered some colourful stories but more importantly, we made some key discoveries every builder needs to understand. Here are the second five:

>Completing Work to “Their” Standard – Put another way, do you have the patience to deliver on the architect’s design intent? More detailed finishes, design nuances, greater facilitation of look and feel, ahead of construction practicalities. If your approach doesn’t facilitate this, it will be a tough journey.

>Budget Vs What ifs? It’s inevitable that clients and architects will need to understand the cost impacts of updated concepct designs. If you’re using ProCalc, you’ll be able to do these in just minutes online.

>Another Industry Professional to Educate the Client – The right architect will be a helpful ally when working with novice or challenging clients. They can act as your advocate when the client’s raising concerns (and vice versa)

>Target a Locality – If you target architects in a specific geographic area, you will be able to keep work close to your preferred territory. That means less time traveling and more time doing paid work.

>Don’t be Quote Fodder – It’s easy to be the price checker because architects are often compelled by clients to obtain 3 quotes. So, use ProCalc with them first to check their client can afford their project. Book a free ProCalc trial & tutorial here
